STEIN Weihnachtsspende 2017

Merry Christmas from STEIN

The weather in our beautiful city of Hamburg doesn’t show it yet, but Christmas is just around the corner and 2017 is coming to an end.

We are looking back on a successful year, for which we would like to sincerely thank our customers and partners.

But we do not only want to thank you, we also want to give back. So instead of gifts we once again decided to support a good cause.

This year the choice fell on the children and environmental education program “WILMA von den Wilden Weiden”, meaning Wilma of the wild meadows, located in the local nature reserve “Höltigbaum”. A project hosted by the “Foundation Nature of the North” that we were lucky to get to know this summer for our yearly Task Force event and now hold dear to our hearts.

Many children from bigger cities do not have the opportunity to really experience nature and therefore have difficulties developing an understanding for the environment. That’s exactly where WILMA comes in.
The one-year program “WILMA von den Wilden Weiden” offers a total of 20 different outdoor activities for nursery and primary school classes.
Earning a diploma as nature researchers, the kids study ground and water, follow the trails of wild animals and plants as well as learn about nature conservation.

The wild meadows refer to the agricultural land in the nature reserve Höltigbaum.  The land is home to sheep, goats and cattle who are grazing the meadows year-round. Wilma is the program’s mascot and accompanies the children from the start.

With our donation we were able to allow three groups of children to participate in the program for a full year.

We wish all our customers and partners a Merry Christmas and look forward to the coming year!
