The team of the POS expert STEIN with over 90 employees has gained a new member. At the beginning of the month, the Hamburg Point of Sale agency launched an integration project with a refugee from Iraq. The goal is a three-year apprenticeship.

The starting point of the initiative was a project in the agency, during which the possibilities of employing refugees were discussed and later put into action. The donation-funded “Start with a Friend e.V.” foundation, with which some STEIN employees had already worked in a so-called tandem partnership, established the first contact between STEIN and Alauldeen S.B.

The project is starting with an entry-level qualification. Alauldeen (nickname: Alaa) will get to know several departments at STEIN over the next 6 months and actively work in different business areas. The first station will be in Business Analysis for the extensive evaluation of market data. After completing his training preparation, Alaa will begin his 3-year apprenticeship in Office Management at STEIN with a focus on Finance. After gaining his high school diploma in Iraq, the 25-year old already studied Public Finance for four semesters and has become very passionate about this area of business.

We are happy to open our doors to refugees and are absolutely delighted that a young man who wants to take responsibility will be starting a new chapter of his life with us.”

Alaa regarding his first day at STEIN: “It’s a great opportunity for me to be able to continue my career path at STEIN and follow my passion for numbers. I was welcomed with open arms and I am looking forward to working with my new colleagues and exchanging ideas with them.”
